The Biggest, Best, and Weirdest of Bay Area Maker Faire 2013

Scott Parenteau built this creepy metal crawly over four months leading up to last year's Burning Man. The Walking Pod has two 90-volt, 1/2-hp electric motors driving its legs. Inside the pod there's also a backup generator to recharge them. That comes in handy when Parenteau camps out in the beast. "It's a mobile RV with legs," he says.
